This program is available to residents who plan to be out of town for an extended period of time. Deputies will periodically check your residence/property to ensure it is secured and undisturbed. If deputies noticed anything out of the ordinary, the emergency contact you provide will be notified. For any changes to vacation/extended leave plans, please notify our office at 641-484-3760.
Please fill out the online Vacation Watch form to provide the details necessary for deputies conducting the Vacation Watch checks. You can also print and fill out the form by either e-mail or provide the form in person at our office.
Please note that the frequency of these checks will depend on the call volume our office experiences. Active calls will take precedence.
For those wishing vacation checks in the city limits of Dysart, Tama, or Toledo, please contact the proper law enforcement agency of that town to request a vacation check.
