Serious Injury Rollover Crash – 1200 Block Highway 63

 June 28, 2025

At approximately 6:27 a.m., the Tama County Sheriff’s Office responded to a single-vehicle rollover crash in the 1200 block of Highway 63.

Initial investigation indicates the driver was traveling at a high rate of speed, lost control on a curve, and overcorrected. The vehicle rolled multiple times while remaining on the roadway, striking both the northbound and southbound shoulders before coming to rest on the road. The driver was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle.

The driver sustained serious injuries. Citizens were first on scene and began assisting until emergency crews arrived. Responding agencies included the Tama County Sheriff’s Office, Black Hawk County Sheriff’s Office, Traer Ambulance, Traer Fire Department, and area residents.
