Extra Traffic Enforcement - Thanksgiving Holiday Weekend

The Governor’s Traffic Safety Bureau (GTSB) is having a Seatbelt and Traffic Enforcement Project (STEP) wave that started on November 14th until November 27th. The main focus of this Enforcement Project is seat belts and Impaired Driving. Last year, over the Thanksgiving Holiday Weekend, Iowa unfortunately saw 7 traffic fatalities, the highest in a decade.

The Tama County Sheriff's Office wants to ensure a safe and happy Holiday season for all. In order to minimize traffic-related incidents, our office will be conducting additional traffic enforcement throughout Tama County. We advise everyone traveling, especially within the county, to be alert and follow traffic Iowa traffic laws accordingly. Please have a joyful and safe holiday season!
