Boat Overturns Near Chelsea – Two Rescued
At 1:29 p.m. today, a boat overturned on the Iowa River near Chelsea. Two people were safely recovered with only minor injuries.
Responding agencies included the Tama County Sheriff’s Office, Tama Police Department, Chelsea Fire, Belle Plaine Fire, and Belle Plaine Ambulance. A few nearby citizens also jumped in to help.
We’re thankful for the quick response by everyone involved. This could have ended much worse, and we’re glad both individuals are okay.
